Three Recent Listening Pleasures

The Stones Roses are a band that I go back to now and again and enjoy them like the second time I heard them, again and again. There is musical depth and richness that few bands attempt these days or at least not in such a classic mode. Great '60's folk, pop, great beats, guitar/bass interludes and psychedelia, and cool artwork to boot!


Love Is All is from outer space. They are a band that combines many things and they definately pull off a slight of hand and steal from the best of rocks last fifty years. Yet I cannot say exactly what they are. They are punky but not a punk band, garagey, but no cliches here thank you very much, and soulful, but not quite a soul band, even if they make you want to listen to records recorded in Detroit or Memphis in the '60's.


I forget how good the White Stripes are because I'm deafened by the hype. This one is a classic.
