Saw The Departed

Last night an old friend and I saw The Departed, the lastest by the great Martin Scorsese. The review said that it was great for the first half and then fizzled. I completely agree. Although this movie manages to maintain a great sense humor despite its heavy topics and although it has some memorable characters who are enjoyable to watch, it drives home its good-guy/bad-guy message with little sublty or nuance. I would only recommend this should you want to be thrilled for a couple of hours. Otherwise, wait for the rental. It's not worth the nine bucks.
