Sometimes life is shiny and new and other times it's made shiny all over again. So much of what we find meaning in is changed by our perceptions. Take this car for instance. You've probably already guessed what make and model it is because marketers have been busy sinking this one into our subconsciousness in not-so-subtle ways for a few years. We know it; it knows us; it's an icon of sorts; it would make us feel shiny and new for a limited time only. When life feels shiny and new we are happy; when we are happy life feels shiny and new. We are suckers for this on a regular basis. Even a new candy bar or bottled drink can make us feel better. But nothing can compare to the real shiny and new, the authentic one which people and new jobs make us feel. I don't know how long the feeling will stick around, but I am happy to be enjoying that feeling right now, due to a couple circumstances, and for that I have to thank some friends and a person who is a friend but also more. Knowing somebody is there, when you feel like a crusty old model in the discount bin somehow, magically makes you (me at least) shiny and new. Thanks peoples. I hope you know who you are.
